Varanasi Court on Tuesday gave two-day extension to submit final survey report in Gyanvapi Mosque case as requested by survey team. The court also removed survey commissioner, Ajay Mishra, amid allegations of survey reports being leaked to media by one of his close aides. However, 2 other survey commissioners will continue their work of survey.

The Varanasi court-appointed Commission that carried out the survey of the Kashi Vishwanath temple-Gyanvapi mosque complex had earlier submitted an application in the court seeking two additional days to submit its report.

On Monday, the Varanasi court directed the district administration to seal the spot in the mosque complex where a Shivling was claimed to have been found during the videography survey.

Muslim panel, however, accused authorities of sealing premises without hearing.
