Panchkula, March 5
In the run-up to the Lok Sabha as well as Assembly elections, leaders of the Haryana Youth Congress have started targeting the BJP-led state government on rising unemployment.
Partly leaders, including president Divyanshu Budhiraja, held a ‘kirtan’ programme as a form of protest outside the office of the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) in Sector 2 here today. They raised slogans. The protest slogans were accompanied by occasional chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’.
Over 100 youths, applicants of HSSC’s group-C posts, are already squatting in protest outside the HSSC office , alleging faulty results, since February 26. The leaders lambasted the BJP government, seeking appointments on various posts of multi-purpose health worker, junior basic training teacher and others. The youths alleged that the state was witnessing recruitment scams.
Buddhiraja said, “We raised a question on the dwindling status of employment in the state. Prayers were offered to Lord Shri Ram to alleviate the increasing unemployment and job scams in Haryana.”
Criticising the BJP government for its alleged failure in providing employment, Buddhiraja said Haryana topped the country in unemployment. “The BJP-JJP government is constantly being unjust towards the state’s youth. More than 20,000 vacancies of group-C have not been filled yet, 13,500 jobs of group-D were vacant since 2021. As many as 27,878 posts of government school teacher are vacant too. There have been no JBT recruitment for the past 10 years. Also, 62% of the posts of assistant professor in government colleges are lying vacant. Similarly, thousands of positions are vacant in universities as well.”
He said the state failed to carry out recruitments despite the fact that over 2 lakh posts were vacant.
