Kaushik, along with 11 other persons, including certain companions of former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal, were sentenced to six month's simple imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2000 each by the Punjab and Haryana High Court today for committing contempt of court. ‘Declare Pakistan a terrorist state’
NEW DELHI, July 6 — Members in the Rajya Sabha today reiterated their demand for declaring Pakistan a terrorist state and condemned its unprovoked firing on Indian positions in which a number of jawans and civilians were killed.
The unprovoked firing in Jammu and Kashmir was a clear evidence of a proxy war by Pakistan which was endangering national security, BJP member V.K. Malhotra said.
Raising the matter through a special mention during zero hour, Mr Malhotra said Pakistan was spending crores of rupees to spread terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, which was a serious matter and part of a "big conspiracy"....
