Central aid drop in the ocean
JAMMU, July 8 — With the over-all budgetary deficit touching about Rs 1544 crore and the overdraft with the Jammu and Kashmir Bank having crossed Rs 987 crore, the release of Rs 250 crore by the Centre to allow the state to meet the cash crunch is seen to be as good as a "drop in the ocean".
The Reserve Bank of India has told the Jammu and Kashmir Bank that it should not have exceeded the limit of Rs 750 crore while sanctioning overdraft in favour of the state government. ...
