        policy CALCUTTA, Nov 6 (PTI)  The Centre is proposing a
        draft national health policy which will consider the
        post-1983 developments in the health sector, Union
        Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Dalit
        Ezhilmalai said today. The policy would lay emphasis on
        the onset of non-communicable diseases with increase in
        life expectancy like cardio-vascular diseases,
        hypertension, cancer and diabetes, he said.
 PIL rejectedNAGPUR, Nov 6 (UNI)  The Nagpur Bench of Bombay
        High Court rejected a public interest litigation against
        the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), seeking the
        court's direction to force the RSS to shed its alleged
        anti-secular stance. The bench comprising Mr Justice J N
        Pandya and Mr Justice A B Palkar rejected the PIL filed
        by RSS activist-turned-critic M D Kamdar, saying the
        central government was quite powerful to safeguard the
        public interest in this regard.
 25 hurt in blastLAHORE, Nov 6 (ANI)  At least 25 persons were
        injured in a bomb explosion at a congested market place
        here yesterday. A high-explosive time device, concealed
        in a plastic bag, was planted underneath a concrete
        platform in the main market. It went off at a time when
        the market was crowded, officials said.
 NCW seeks probeNEW DELHI, Nov 6 (PTI)  The National Commission for
        Women (NCW) today demanded a high-level judicial inquiry
        into the death of Chitra, a Dalit woman, following
        alleged rape by police officials in a police station in
        Chennai. The probe should cover delay on the part of the
        police in visiting the spot of the suicide after long
        hours of lodging the FIR, delay caused in sending the
        body for post-mortem and delay in submitting the report,
        an NCW member said, releasing a report by the commission
        into the incident.
 MQM workers heldKARACHI, Nov 6 (ANI)  About 40 more workers and
        supporters of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) were
        rounded up from various parts of the province since last
        night and large quantities of arms and ammunition was
        allegedly seized from them. The police confirmed the
        arrest of 56 persons, wanted in various crimes, but did
        not specify their political affiliation.
 Scam accusedPATNA, Nov 6 (PTI)  Three accused in one of the
        fodder scam case Pandey Chandrashekhar Sharma, Jaishanker
        Prasad and Krishna Mohan Prasad Sinha today surrendered
        before the designated CBI court here. The three
        surrendered in a case which relates to fraudulent
        withdrawals of lakhs of rupees from Chaibasa treasury.
        The judge remanded them in judicial custody.
 Meeting on price
        rise todayNEW DELHI, Nov 6 (PTI)  A meeting of state Chief
        Secretaries will be held here tomorrow to review the
        situation arising out of spiralling prices of essential
        commodities. The meeting, to be chaired by Cabinet
        Secretary Prabhat Kumar, is being held as a follow up
        measure by the government after the group of ministers
        (GoM) met last week to take stock of the price situation,
        official sources said. Significantly, allies of the BJP
        like the Trinamool Congress, Lok Shakti and TDP have
        sought a Chief Ministers meet to discuss the issue.
