XEN, JE indicted in lift fault case
CHANDIGARH, Aug 9 — An Executive Engineer and a Junior Engineer of the Electrical Circle have reportedly been indicted in the Sector 9 Additional De Luxe Building lift failure case. Mr R.K. Rao, Assistant Commissioner in the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, who conducted the inquiry, has submitted his report to the Administration.

CHANDIGARH, Aug 9 — A PGI doctor has created his own form of a life saving drug primarily required to facilitate and induce breathing in babies who do not breathe normally at birth.

Court notice to Administrator
CHANDIGARH, Aug 9 — The Punjab and Haryana High Court today issued notice to the Administrator of Chandigarh, Lieut-Gen B.K.N. Chhibber (retd), and three other officers of the UT Administration for September 7 on a petition preferred by Mr Jagvinder Singh Dhillon, an advocate, for initiation of contempt of court proceedings for wilful violation of the High Court order dated November 30, 1998.

CHANDIGARH, Aug 9 — A Division Bench consisting of Mr Justice Jawahar Lal Gupta and Mr Justice V.M. PANCHKULA, Aug 9 — A robbery in 1997, in which bandits had forced their way into the house of a Barwala businessman in Sector 21 here and decamped with cash and jewellery after seriously injuring the occupants of the house, is yet to be solved.

Living on the edge of 'death-traps'
CHANDIGARH, Aug 9 — Residents of the city are living virtually on the edge of "death traps". While residents of the labour colonies are constantly living under the shadow of death due to naked and defective wiring, the city residents are at the receiving end due to the open road gullies and manholes.
