Ruckus in LS on wheat import
NEW DELHI, Dec 3 — The Congress today charged the Government with allowing "scandalous and reckless" import of wheat this year despite surplus availability in the country and demanded that a House Committee, comprising members of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, be constituted to inquire into what they described as the "wheat scam".

IAF pilot killed in plane crash
ZIRAKPUR (Patiala district) Dec 3 — A MiG-21 fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force blew up in flames minutes after take off from the Chandigarh Air Force Station this afternoon leading to the death of the pilot, Flying Officer Pankaj Joshi.

Setback for India at Seattle
SEATTLE, Dec 3 — India suffered a major setback as the USA bulldozed its way to set up a working group to include contentious core labour standards in the WTO agenda despite stiff resistance from New Delhi and other developing countries as trade ministers from 135-member nations were engaged in eleventh hour all-night negotiation on the third day of the ministerial conference here.
