Babri issue rocks Parliament
NEW DELHI, Dec 6 — Pandemonium in Parliament marked the seventh anniversary of the demolition of Babri Masjid today with opposition members, challenging the continuance of the Home Minister, Mr L.K. Advani, and two other BJP ministers charge-sheeted in the demolition case, stalling proceedings in both Houses.

Over 1000 arrested in UP
LUCKNOW, Dec 6 — More than 1,000 persons were today arrested at various places in the state on the seventh anniversary of the demolition of the disputed structure at Ayodhya.

Biswal sworn in CM
BHUBANESWAR, Dec 6 — The Orissa PCC President, Mr Hemananda Biswal, chosen by the party high command to replace Mr Giridhar Gamang as head of the government, was sworn in as the state’s 16th Chief Minister here today.

‘Cobra Gang’ busted
AMRITSAR, Dec 6 — In a major breakthrough, the police here has busted “Cobra Gang” and arrested its 12 members, including four police officials, two women and its kingpin Satpal Singh Satta.

Kalyan Singh to float new party
VARANASI, Dec 6 —The ousted UP Chief Minister, Mr Kalyan Singh, today declared that he would form a new party immediately after his expulsion from the BJP and it would contest all 425 Assembly seats in the next elections in the state on the plank of “real Hindutva”.

Thakre moves DAC for action
NEW DELHI, Dec 6 — The process of expelling former UP Chief Minister, Mr Kalyan Singh, from the BJP seems to have been initiated with the party President, Mr Kushabhau Thakre, today referring Mr Kalyan Singh’s reply to the show cause notice served on him to the disciplinary action committee.

Rs 10 raise for Home Guards
SHIMLA, Dec 6 — The Himachal Government has decided to increase the remuneration of Home Guards from Rs 60 to Rs 70 per day.


Dera to send 50,000 volunteers to Orissa
SIRSA, Dec 6 — Dera Sacha Sauda is sending 50,000 relief volunteers for rehabilitation work in cyclone-hit Orissa. The registration of volunteers has already started and there has been tremendous response to the drive.
