Resignation issue rocks Parliament
NEW DELHI, Dec 8 — The issue of resignation by two senior ministers of the Vajpayee government rocked both Houses of Parliament today with angry Congress members staging a walkout in the Lok Sabha in protest against the rejection of a privilege notice against the Prime Minister.

NEW DELHI, Dec 8 — Home Minister L.K.Advani today said the government would consider the demand for setting a new commission to inquire into the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. The offer came when Rajya Sabha members made a strong demand in this regard.

ISLAMABAD, Dec 8 — Nearly two months after he was toppled in a coup, Mr Nawaz Sharif, his brother and five others were today charge-sheeted by Pakistan’s military regime.

PATIALA, Dec 8 — A favour bestowed on a sister proved costly for former Congress panchayat and Home Minister Brij Bhupinder Singh who was today arrested by the Patiala Vigilance Bureau for getting funds released for construction of a road to his sister’s farmhouse.

Multi-crore scandal in bus tickets

CHANDIGARH, Dec 8 — While the Punjab Transport Department has sought complete details from the Punjab Vigilance Bureau with regard to the involvement of certain officials of Punjab Roadways in the alleged multi-crore scandal in Pathankot Depot, the bureau is continuing with its drive to arrest those involved in the scandal.
