Wife finds man, kids dead

HISAR, Dec 10 — Mystery shrouds the death of a man and his three children, whose bodies were found last night at their residence.

According to the police sources, Suresh Kumar Soni, a resident of Gandhi Colony in the Mill Gate area, was found hanging from a ceiling fan, while his three children, including two daughters, were lying dead on the floor.

The three children Sonu (10), Kafi (6) and Golu (5) were allegedly strangulated to death, while Suresh Kumar’s body was found hanging from the ceiling fan.

The city police has registered a case under Section 302 of the IPC on a complaint by Suresh Kumar’s wife, Pushpa Devi. However, she has reportedly said, she does not suspect anybody in particular for the murder.

Suresh Kumar was married to Pushpa Devi seven years ago, after his first wife and Pushpa’s sister, Suman, died. Suresh had one daughter, Sonu, from the first marriage. He owned a scooter workshop in the local auto market.

Yesterday, the entire family had gone to attend a wedding. However, Suresh left the marriage party along with his children after an altercation with a relative. He got the keys of the house from the neighbours. However, his wife stayed back. After unlocking the house, he took his children inside. He reportedly came out to lock the house again and went inside through a window.

Subsequently, he allegedly strangulated his children to death, one by one. After that he also hanged himself. When Pushpa returned home around 9 pm after attending the marriage, she found the entire family dead.

The neighbours were shocked and dumbfound over the incident. None of them had heard screams or cries that might have been raised when the children were being strangulated.

The police said it was difficult to believe that this was a case of suicide. The police did not rule out foul play in the incident. What is surprising is that why did the children not raise an alarm as the father could not have killed all three at the same time.
