PM denies ‘secret’ agenda
NEW DELHI, Dec 13 —The Opposition parties today walked out of the Lok Sabha expressing dissatisfaction over Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee’s statement on the Ayodhya issue.During zero hour, Mr Rajesh Pilot (Cong) referred to the reported statement by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Ram Prasad Gupta that his government was committed to constructing the proposed Ram Temple at the disputed site.

Haryana: Dissolution on cards
NEW DELHI, Dec 13 — The possibility of Haryana having Assembly elections early next year along with the scheduled poll in Bihar, Orissa and Manipur, has brightened with the Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Om Prakash Chautala having indicated to the Prime Minister that he is likely to recommend dissolution of the present Vidhan Sabha in the next few days.

Framing of charges delayed
ISLAMABAD, Dec 13 — A dispute over handing over audio and video evidences to the defence today delayed framing of charges against Mr Nawaz Sharif, his brother and five others in the plane hijacking case, even as the deposed Pakistan Premier declared that the army regime had “no case” against them.

KARACHI, Dec 13 — Pakistan’s Central Bank said today it had asked all banks in the country to freeze funds of Afghanistan’s ruling Taliban movement in accordance with U.N. sanctions.

HP Assembly adopts resolution on Rohtang tunnel
SHIMLA, Dec 13 — The Himachal Pradesh Assembly today unanimously passed a resolution urging the Centre to start work on the tunnel under the Rohtang Pass in the next financial year, keeping in view the strategic importance of the Manali-Leh highway.
