districts 12 die in violence; 80 pc cast vote COLOMBO, Dec 21 Sri Lankan President Chandrika Kumaratunga was leading in five of the seven districts over her political opponent Ranil Wickramasinghe till midnight as the counting of votes of the presidential elections gained momentum. Of the postal ballots counted, Ms Kumaratunga was leading with 41.25 per cent votes in Jaffna. |
