NEW DELHI, Dec 23 — For the third time in as many years, the Constitution Amendment Bill providing for 33 per cent reservation for women in Parliament and State Legislative Assemblies was moved in the Lok Sabha amid protests from some parties. Amid slogan shouting and confusion, Union Law Minister, Ram Jethmalani, moved the Bill on the last day of the winter session of Parliament.

HC no to plea on Rajiv’s name

NEW DELHI, Dec 23 — Nearly two years after becoming the Congress President, Mrs Sonia Gandhi today revamped the organisation dropping Mr R K Dhawan as the General Secretary and inducting Mr Pawan Bansal and Mrs Santosh Chaudhary, both as Secretaries.

The meeting of the five high priests, the SGPC chief, Bibi Jagir Kaur, representatives of Panthic organisation and the Sant Samaj failed to resolve the calendar issue.
