Five-day remand for
Aggarwal
NEW DELHI, Dec 24 (PTI,
UNI) A designated city court today remanded former
Enforcement Deputy Director Ashok Aggarwal, arrested on
charges of extortion, bribery, forgery and causing
wrongful confinement, in five days CBI custody to
facilitate his interrogation.
Special Judge S.S. Bal,
on the request of the CBI, remanded Aggarwal, who was
arrested yesterday, in CBI custody till December 29 and
posted a bail application moved by the accused for
hearing on January 3.
However, the Judge
allowed a counsel of the accused to meet him twice for 10
minutes every day during the custody period.
Mr Aggarwal was arrested
by the CBI in a joint operation with the Delhi Police at
Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh yesterday from Hotel Taj,
where he was staying with his family under an assumed
name.
