NEW DELHI, July 10 — The Indian Air Force Mirages, MiG-23s and MiG-27s pounded the enemy positions close to the Line of Control in the Dras sector last night and through the day today even as the Indian troops continued to consolidate the gains made in Batalik and Dras.

Victory is near, says PM
NEW DELHI, July 10 — The Prime Minister, Mr Atal Behari Vajpayee, today declared that Operation Vijay launched by the Indian defence forces to push back Pakistani intruders from the Kargil sector had reached a turning point and that the aggression had been decisively turned back.

11 Pak soldiers among 43 killed across LoC
JAMMU, July 10 — Indian troops today achieved yet another major success in destroying several newly created "launching pads’’ of militants and bunkers, besides killing 37 Pakistani soldiers and militants and wounding 63 others in retaliatory action across the Line of Control in Jammu division, a defence spokesman said here.

ISLAMABAD, July 10 — Major militant groups today rejected Pakistan Premier Nawaz Sharif’s appeal to them to withdraw from Kargil, with the powerful Lashkar-e-Toiba accusing the government of "planting stories" in leading newspapers that they had agreed to pull out.
