NEW DELHI, March 26 — The government today announced a new telecom policy to boost private participation, under which all future licences will be given on a revenue-sharing basis, state monopoly on long distance telephone services be eliminated and telecom regulatory authority be further strengthened.

CHANDI MANDIR March 26 — A major tragedy was averted this morning when a "runaway rake" of the Kalka-Delhi Shatabdi Express travelling at a speed of 112 Kmph derailed here in the early hours.

LONDON, March 26 — NATO forces struck with a third wave of intensified aerial blitzkrieg on Serbian targets today as the Security Council rejected a Russian-sponsored resolution condemning the air strikes while first signs of split appeared within NATO allies with Greece and Italy calling for an end to the bombings that have claimed 130 lives so far.

Jaya to raise Bhagwat issue
NEW DELHI, March 26 — Even as AIADMK Chief Jayalalitha tried to create pressure on the BJP-led coalition government by stating that she would raise former Admiral Vishnu Bhagwat’s issue at tomorrow’s Coordination Committee's meeting, Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee has asked Defence Minister George Fernandes to present the entire case along with relevant papers at the meeting.
