Jacob sworn in as Punjab Governor
CHANDIGARH, Nov 27 — Lieut-Gen Jack Frederick Ralph Jacob (retd) today took over as Governor of Punjab-cum-Administrator of Chandigarh. At a simple ceremony held at Punjab Raj Bhavan, he was administered the oath of office by the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Mr Justice Arun B. Sahariya.

CM wants Tibetan govt to stay
DHARAMSALA, Nov 27 — The Chief Minister, Mr P.K. Dhumal, today said the state government would provide all protection to the Tibetans and they need not shift elsewhere. Contacted over the phone at Shimla, he said that the Tibetans, led by the Dalai Lama, have been residing here for the past 40 years. It is for them to decide, where to have their set up.
