Oct 5 A city court has directed the police to
conduct proceedings under the criminal procedure code,
besides getting Constable Bhag Chand medically examined,
who was allegedly assaulted by policemen in the Sector 36

Villages around sanctuaries to get
solar cookers
CHANDIGARH,
Oct 5 With a view to prevent people from cutting
wood for fuel and to reduce pressure on Harike and Takhni
Rehmanpur wildlife sanctuaries in Ferozepore and
Hoshiarpur districts, the Punjab Wildlife Department has
decided to distribute solar cookers among the poor
settled in 8 to 10 villages around these sanctuaries on
the culmination of the ongoing Wildlife Week celebrations
on October 9.
Citizen's
charter discussed

Oct 5 The local chapter of the Institute of
Company Secretaries of India organised a study circle
meeting here today to discuss the citizen's charter
issued by the Department of Company Affairs for the
benefit of the public, investors and the corporate
