CHANDIGARH, Oct 8 — "I have never felt this way about anything else in my life, as I have felt about music", said Sooraj, the latest new entrant to the world of Indi-Pop, in an exclusive interview with TNS today. His debut album 'Musafir' has already found its way to the top of the charts in most of the music channels on air.

No formal training, a long association with rock bands and a deep and a passionate interest in music — familiar sounding credentials? Agreeing with the fact that a lot of new-kids-on-the-block are belting out new numbers everyday. Sooraj said, "My plus point is that I am also into composing songs. So I guess, I am here to stay".

Talking about his entry into the world of music he said, "I come from a South Indian family, now based in Mumbai. Live shows, musician friends and performing with rock bands are my training."

And how does his family feel now that his 'Yun Chaley Zindagi', the title track of 'Musafir' can be heard on all major music channels? "Just great", he gushed and added that when 11 years back he had made his foray into music the world, it did not seem bright at all because no such music channels existed at that time.

Sooraj has also done playback singing fro the film 'Pyar Mein Kabhi Kabhi', in which he sang the song 'Hum naujawan'. His upcoming projects include four new albums that he has signed, for which "work is still to begin. But life was never so hectic as it is now".

Calling the debut album as the "one-stop album", Sooraj said that all the songs have been made to suit a different mood with Indian tunes to go with it. According to him, the lead track 'Musafir', whose video is on air these days, reflects a relaxed yet enthusiastic mood. Songs titled 'Hamesha', 'Samundar' and Hey Yaa' are the pulsating beat songs, while 'Badal' is a rhythmic track and tracks 'Dil Se' and 'Meri Jaan' invite mass appeal.

Later in the evening, Sooraj performed live at a hotel in Sector 22.Back
