        Chief NEW
        DELHI, Feb 14  The process for the selection of the
        next Chief of Army Staff, who would take over the reigns
        from Gen. V.P. Malik, has begun with Lt-Gen G.
        Padmanabhan, the GOC-in-C Southern Command, and Lt-Gen
        Chandra Sekhar, the Vice-Chief of Army Staff, being the
        two serious contenders for the post.

        DELHI, Feb 14  Constitution Review Commission
        Chairman Justice M N Venkatachaliah tonight said the
        issue of barring people of foreign origin from occupying
        high constitutional offices was not a priority item.
 13 Attari coolies lose licencesATTARI,
        Feb 14  On the directions of the Union Home
        Ministry, the Railways authorities have cancelled the
        licences of as many as 13 coolies working at the railway
        station here. As per the report of the Home Ministry the
        coolies have been found indulging in unfair
        activities.
 Minister injured during campaignSHIMLA, Feb
        14  The PWD Minister, Mr Mohinder Singh, was
        injured when he was attacked with stones and bottles
        while he was campaigning for the ruling BJP candidate
        near Kandaghat in the Solan assembly constituency last
        night.
