No rift in NDA on Lanka: DMK
NEW DELHI, June 8 — The DMK leader, Mr Murasoli Maran, today asserted that there were no differences within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on the Sri Lankan situation, stating that his party was “one with the government stand.’’

Fighting no solution to Lanka problem: PM
NEW DELHI, June 8 — Reiterating that the creation of a separate Tamil Eelam is not the answer to the present crisis in Sri Lanka, the Prime Minister, Mr Atal Behari Vajpayee, has said the solution has to be found by the Sri Lankan Government within its geographical boundaries.

Power tariff up by 15% in Punjab
 CHANDIGARH, June 8 — Notwithstanding the setting up a high-level committee of top brass of the Punjab State Electricity Board and the representatives of the industry to decide the tariff issue within three days, the Punjab Government has decided to increase the tariff about 15 per cent across the board.

 NEW DELHI, June 8 — A four-member high-level team from the armed forces, the Ministries of Defence and External Affairs is in Sierra Leone to get the release of 23 Indian Peacekeepers.
