SC reserves order in Veerappan case
NEW DELHI, Oct 31—The Supreme Court today reserved its judgement in the Veerappan case while expressing its disapproval of the decisions of the governments of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu to withdraw charges against the associates of the forest brigand and their inaction in apprehending the latter during the previous 10 years.

Kanishka case accused in police custody
VANCOUVER, Oct 31—A local court today remanded Ripudaman Singh Malik and Ajaib Singh Bagri, the two accused in the Kaniskha bombing case in police custody for one month amid speculation that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police was looking for one more person living in Pakistan or in England in connection with the 15-year-old case.

Registration fee hike withdrawn
CHANDIGARH, Oct 31 — At last, the Punjab Government has withdrawn the hike in the registration fee for the grant of registration certificate to the sales tax assessees. The government has also totally waived the fee fixed for the renewal of the registration certificate. The issue had been hanging fire for the past six months .
