Ammunition worth 15 cr destroyed
Jammu, April 30
Ammunition worth over Rs 15 crore has been destroyed in the blaze that engulfed the Army ammunition depot in Pathankot cantonment late last evening.

The Election Commission today justified the acceptance of the nomination of former Kerala Minister R Balakrishna Pillai in Kerala. Mr Pillai has been convicted for five years in a corruption case. The Election Commission said the provisions of the Representation of People Act, 1951, were clear on the issue.

40 feared drowned in Alakananda

At least 40 persons, were feared drowned today when a bus carrying pilgrims to the Badrinath shrine hurtled into the Alakananda river after the driver tried to avoid a head-on collision with a taxi on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway.
