Aviation Ordnancemen assigned to the "Fighting Redcocks" of Strike Fighter Squadron Two Two load ordnance on an F/A-18 "Hornet" in preparation for afternoon flight operations on October 9, 2001. The USS Carl Vinson and its carrier airwing are conducting flight operations against training camps and military installations of the Taliban regime in Afghanistan. The carefully targeted actions are designed to disrupt the use of Afghanistan as a base for operations and to attack the military capability of the Taliban regime. The Carl Vinson is operating in the Arabian Sea as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. —REUTERS
