A US Air Force C2 plane hangs over the edge of the flight deck of the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier 80 nautical miles off the Atlantic coast of the Uruguayan city of Maldonado on October 9, 2001. The plane was landing with a group of Uruguayan military officers and Congressmen on a courtesy visit to the Nimitz as it crossed Uruguay's territorial waters on its way around Cape Horn to the Pacific.
