Villages to get better amenities

“The SAD-BJP government is committed to provide better civic amenities, including water supply, drainage, and liberal grants are being made available for this purpose.” This was stated by Mr Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Director, Markfed, and in charge of Ludhiana Rural Assembly segment, while presenting a cheque for Rs 74,000 to the village panchayat at Phullanwal for the improvement of drainage.

Melas on despite ban

Melas in Focal Point continue to be operative, the ban imposed by the district administration notwithstanding.
Though the proceedings were halted at the mela near the HIG/MIG Colony by baton-wielding cops at 9.30 pm. on Thursday, two days after the imposition of the ban, the paraphernalia, including swings and the big tent put up by a magician, had not been removed from the site.

The Delhi Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (DGPC) chief and the president of the Delhi unit of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal), Mr Avtar Singh Hit, today lashed out at the leaders of the Panthic Morcha, accusing them of having a single-point agenda to defame the Chief Minister, Mr Parkash Singh Badal.
