Divali, Children’s Day in schools Ludhiana, November 13 Twin celebrations were held in Holly Hock Nursery School today.The school presented a festive look with all children dressed up as fruits, vegetables and flowers. The children in their multi-coloured dresses had made the school environment very colourful. The Principal of the school said that the theme was specially chosen to make the children aware of healthy eating habits. ‘‘Child is the father of man so we should always encourage the children and teach them the moral values", she added. The Principal said that Divali was a festival of lights. The children were told about the importance of Divali. The children were dressed up as brinjal, carrot, tomato, banana, grapes, cherries, strawberries, rose, sunflower and orange. Everest Public Senior Secondary School celebrated Children’s Day with great pomp and show. Students presented a colourful programme of dances, songs, skits and short speeches, Tributes were paid to Pt Nehru. The children rendered ‘Vande Mataram’. The participating students were given prizes on this occasion. The function was presided over by school principal Ms Asha Sharma. The tiny tots of GMT Public School, Jalandhar Bypass, gathered today along with their teachers to celebrate Divali. Keeping in view the harmful effects of crackers, the students took an oath to celebrate the festival without crackers. Mr SGS Thind, director of the school, said that children should keep the environment clean. He stressed the need to celebrate and enjoy a safe Divali.Ms Heema Jindal, Principal of the school, spoke about the importance of the festival. The little kids of Tiny Tulips Playway School, Aggar Nagar, also celebrated Children’s Day at a function held here today. Ms Mridula Bhalla, Director, Vikas Group of Companies was the chief guest on the occasion. Kids came up dressed as doctor, soldier, joker, dacoit, Pandit Nehru, Meera Bai and bhangra dancer. The first prize was won by Raunak, who had dressed up as a doctor and Smriti won the second prize. The children were given Divali gifts, candies and chocolates. |
