President, PM greet people on Divali

New Delhi, November 13
President K.R. Narayanan and Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee today greeted the people on the occasion of Divali.

“On the joyous occasion of Divali, I convey my warm greetings and good wishes to all fellow citizens. May the festival of lights dispel darkness and gloom and bring happiness and prosperity to all our people”, Mr Narayanan said in his message.

Mr Vajpayee said the twinkling of the bright, earthen Divali lamps “signifies the forces of good, which dispel the evil of darkness”.

Vice-President Krishan Kant in his message asked people to celebrate the festival in “its true spirit with due care and concern for society.” PTI
