Heavy rush for Cong ticket
Ludhiana, November 28
There seems to be a great rush of aspirants for the Congress ticket for the four assembly segments in Ludhiana urban. While the last date for submitting the prescribed application form is December 3, about 30 candidates have already submitted their applications to the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC).

Ludhiana, November 28
An impressive nagar kirtan was taken out from Gurdwara Kalgidhar, Field Ganj, in connection with the birthday celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev here this afternoon.
The nagar kirtan, which was led by the Panj Piaras, was greeted by people with bowed heads and folded hands along the entire way to Jagraon bridge, the Clock Tower , division number three chowk and to the gurdwara via Subhani building chowk.

Organisation urges MC for change in billing system
Ludhiana, November 28
Mr A.K. Bhandari, general secretary, Public Cause, a social organisation, has urged Mr. R.L. Kalsia, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana, to personally look into water billing system being adopted currently and order suitable changes to mitigate the genuine public problems in this regard.
21.69 cr for sewerage, water supply
Khanna, November 28
The Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) has passed a sewerage and water supply scheme amounting Rs 21.69 crore for the town. It has sanctioned a loan of Rs 17.35 crore for the scheme to the Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Punjab, which would execute the work.
