Bed-ridden Badal clears 2-cr projects
 New Delhi, November 30
Parkash Singh Badal Even though he is away from the campaign trail in Punjab, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has been making and renewing bonds of a different kind during his stay at Ganga Ram Hospital here. Union Home Minister L. K. Advani described Mr Badal as a “brother” while recording his remarks in the visitors’ book and it is after a long time that the Chief Minister is spending days together with his family.

Sehwag out of Mohali Test

 The crisis facing international cricket today blew over with batsman Virender Sehwag being dropped from the team for the first Test against England in return for the International Cricket Council agreeing to set up a commission to review the penalties awarded to six Indian players.

English players arrive
Chandigarh, November 30
Manager of the English cricket side, which arrived here this afternoon, Mr Phil Neal, said the team was preparing for the Test match against India. The controversy occurring between the International Cricket Council and the Board for Cricket Control in India (BCCI) was not under consideration of the team management at the moment.

81 Maoists killed in Nepal
International Press warned of curbs

At least 81 Maoist rebels have been killed in an encounter with the security forces in western and southwestern Nepal, state-run daily Gorkhapatra reported.

Pak preparing to push Taliban into Jammu
Jammu, November 30
Pakistan may try to push in as many as 1,000 Taliban militia fighters who have fled Afghanistan through the Line of Control into the Jammu region within the next fortnight, a top military official has warned. Brig P.C. Das of 16 Corps said here this afternoon that large-scale preparations were on across the LoC to ensure the entry of 1,000 Taliban men into India in the first phase within the next fortnight.
