NCERT directive a Parivar ploy: CPM
Jatinder SharmaRohtak,
December 1
The Haryana unit of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) says
that the “arbitrary order” of the NCERT to CBSE-affiliated schools
to delete some parts from
History textbooks is not an
isolated act. It has to be seen as part of the larger Sangh Parivar agenda towards the “Talibanisation” of the entire curriculum of education, the CPM state secretary, Mr Inderjit Singh, told NCR Tribune. The revision of History books to suit the Sangh Parivar vision of religious fundamentalism went against the pluralist and composite Indian culture and secularism, which formed the basis of national unity, he said. Therefore, be it the desperate attempts to introduce Jyotish Vidya, Vedic mathematics, Karam-kand etc or enforcing a dress code for girl students by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), student wing of the BJP, or fundamentalist Islamic forces in Kashmir are all part of the revivalist agenda to take the country to the dark days, Mr Inderjit Singh said.
