Municipal Lok Adalat postponed
Our Correspondent

Ludhiana, December 4
The second Municipal Lok Adalat, scheduled to be held here on December 7, has been postponed and fresh dates for the same would be announced later. Giving this information, Mr Ashok Bazaz, Legal Advisor of the MC informed that a large number of councillors and several non-government organisations (NGOs) had pleaded for postponement of the Lok Adalat on the ground that the notice being short, the litigants and other concerned parties, could not be intimated.

Responding to the demand, the MC administration, under intimation to Punjab Legal Services Authority, decided to put off the Lok Adalat to a later date. The new dates would be finalised in consultation with the Punjab Legal Services Authority. Meanwhile, all litigants, with pending cases relating to the MC, have been asked to come forward for disposal of their cases through the simple and speedy proceedings of the proposed Lok Adalat. All written requests for transfer of pending court cases to the Lok Adalat, would be received in the law branch at the MC head office here, Mr Bazaz added.
