300 participate in PNB sports meet

Ludhiana, December 4
Punjab National Bank, Ludhiana region, organised a two-day 19th inter-office sports meet which concluded at the Punjab Agricultural University grounds here yesterday.

More than 300 bank employees participated in the various events. On this occasion, races for the kids of the staff members and veterans were also conducted. Mr K.I Singh, Senior Regional Manager, PNB, was the chief guest while Mr Chand Singh, Deputy Zonal Manager, was the guest of honour.

Ludhiana men’s team wins

Ludhiana, December 4
Hosts Ludhiana in the men section and Patiala in the women section emerged victorious in the Punjab State Softball Championship which concluded at SDP College for Women grounds here yesterday. As many as 26 teams comprising 400 players participated in this two-day meet.

In the final (men), Ludhiana prevailed over Kapurthala by 6 homes to 5 while in the women section, Patiala recorded an easy win (10 homes to 4) against Ludhiana with main contribution coming through Asha Rani. Kamlesh, Ruby and Jyoti played well for the home team. Mr Jaswinder Singh, ETO, distributed the prizes.
