These 78 families, that add up to 140 members, have come from all parts of India and managed to stay in the Ashram for Lepers. They are from every religion  Hindu, Muslim, Christian.

'Say no to Shahtoosh'

Opposing the wearing of Shahtoosh shawls, which are prepared from the wool of an endangered animal called 'Chiru', also known as theTibetan Antelope, the Wildlife Trust of India has stated that those who manufactured such shawls misled people by saying that they collected the wool shed by the animal when it grazes amid bushes and rocks in hilly areas.

DCC (U) to hold rally on December 8

In pursuance to the decision of the Congress high command to hold assembly segment-wise rallies to prepare the ground for the ensuing elections, the District Congress Committee (Urban) today decided to hold the first such rally in Basti Jodhewal, falling in the Ludhiana North Assembly constituency in the city on December 8.

One dies in accident

The Sarabha Nagar police has registered a case under Sections 279,304-B and 427 of the IPC against an unknown driver of Maruti Zen car ( PB 61-G 6410) who hit a cyclist near Malhar Cinema yesterday and fled the spot. The victim later succumbed to his injuries at the DMC Hospital.
