Irrigation officials ‘fudging’ muster-rolls
Sonepat, December 8
The Haryana Government has been suffering a huge financial loss due to the preparation of bogus muster-rolls allegedly by officials of the Rai Water Service Division and the Samalkha Sub-Division of the Irrigation Department. The matter came to light in the recent weekly darbar held by the sub-divisional magistrate of Ganaur, Mr Jeet Singh Mehra, when several labourers complained about the non-payment of wages.

Sonepat rice shellers thrive on poor offtake of paddy
Sonepat, December 8
The paddy growers of Sonepat district, particularly at Ganaur mandi, are worried over the extremely small quantity of procurements of their produce by the official agencies. Moreover, the indifferent attitude of officials concerned has forced them either to divert their produce to the nearby Narela (Delhi) market or to sell it at throw-away price to the traders and owners of rice shellers.

27 govt creches in Rohtak district
Rohtak, December 8
There are as many as 27 government creches functioning in the district, the District Child Welfare Officer, Sandeep Dahiya, has informed. While 21 creches are in operation in rural areas, six are in the urban region.
Surcharge waiver scheme extended

The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) has extended the surcharge waiver scheme for power consumers who have defaulted the payment of bills till December 31.
