Laloo appears in court

Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi and her husband and ruling Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo Laloo Prasad Yadav today appeared before the designated Central Bureau of Investigation court here in connection with a disproportionate assets case, an off-shoot of the multi-crore-rupee fodder scam. Both arrived in court amidst tight security to record their statements. Mr Yadav’s statement was recorded while Ms Rabri Devi would appear again tomorrow to record hers. During recording of the statement, most of the queries asked of Mr Yadav were related to his investments, expenditure on purchase of immovable assets and on educating his children. Earlier, Mr Yadav was brought here to Beur Central Jail from the jail in Ranchi where he was under judicial custody in connection with one of the cases related to the scam. UNI
