SPS-44, GMSSS-35 to clash for title

Chandigarh, December 21
Sanjay Public School, Sector 44, made it to the final of the inter-school cricket tournament organised for Shivalik Trophy when they outplayed Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 35, by 40 runs. Now Sanjay Public School will take on DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, tomorrow at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium.

Brief scores — SPS-44: 198 runs for nine (Vikram Verma 96, Harpreet Singh 19, Abhishek Sharma 2 for 33); GMSSS-35: Uday Kaul 39, Jaspreet Bedi 35, Vikram Verma 4 for 34, Satnam Singh 4 for 24).

Cricket meet

The VIIIth JAL Cup league cricket tournament which was postponed earlier due to the inter-college cricket tournament would now resume from December 25 at the DAV College, Sector 10. The Chandigarh Sport Club will take on Elite Cricket Club on December 25 at 8 a.m.

Mahesh SekhriNominated

Mahesh Sekhri, general secretary, Chandigarh Carrom Association, has been nominated as the chairman, All -India Referees' sub-committee of the All-India Carrom Federation. He is also the secretary of the AICF and an international panel umpire. Another CCA official Ravinder Sharma, vice-president of the association, has been made member of the disciplinary sub-committee of the federation.

Golf Club poll today

Chandigarh, December 21
The Golf club goes to the polls tomorrow. The polling will begin at 11 am and ends at 4 pm. A total of 1,800 permanent members enjoy the right to vote in the poll.

Going by past voting patterns, polling is expected to be between 55 and 60 per cent. Counting of votes will take place on Sunday at 9 am. Mr Tegbir Sibia (gogi) and Mr Ravi Sandhu are contesting for the post of President, while 21 members are contesting for 11 seats in the executive body.

MC list for house tax assessment

Panchkula, December 21
The Municipal Council has published a list of shops, houses, industries, land and other commercial properties for the assessment of house tax for 2001- 2002.

Mr O.P. Sihag, Executive Officer of the council, has informed that this list was also displayed on the notice board of the MC office for inspection of public, falling in MC area. He said that notices to owners of properties were being issued. Those residents having objection about ownership, rental value, plot area and covered area, will have to submit in writing within 30 days of the receipt of notice.
