APHC functionary held
Srinagar, December 27
The police today said it had arrested a senior functionary of the All-Party Hurriyat Conference (APHC) from the airport when he was leaving for Delhi. Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, who is based in Delhi, was here to investigate the seizure of about Rs 1 crore by the Jammu and Kashmir police from militants during the past one month. Bhat was allegedly the main link between militants in Pakistan and Kashmir, the police said. Police also arrested Najar who was providing hide-outs to militants, particularly to foreign ultras in the city.

Fog delays flights
New Delhi, December 27
A few flights and some trains were delayed today as fog continued to envelop the northern region and the Capital. A few flights were delayed between 8.30 a.m. and 10 a.m. as visibility came down at the Delhi airport. The Northern Railway rescheduled a number of trains due to late arrival of incoming trains.

Patna, December 27
Train services on Gaya-Kiul section of Danapur division have been suspended amidst apprehensions of violence and damage to railway property in view of the tension following the killing of nine RJD workers in Bihar’s Sheikhpura district yesterday, a spokesman said here today.

33 killed
Dhaka, December 27
At least 33 passengers were killed and 28 others injured today when two buses collided in northern Bangladesh, the police said. “The death toll might go up,” an officer said.
