Adam Mayblum, managing director of May Davis Group, looks over the site of the World Trade Center collapse, in New York. Mayblum, who escaped the WTC disaster from his offices on the 87th floor of the north tower, sent a lengthy e-mail describing his harrowing experience to about 25 friends and family. Mayblum's account drew more than 1,000 responses from strangers around the world.


 

South African Internet millionaire Mark Shuttleworth (R) follows the Russian specialist's instructions as he undergoes a training session at the docking unit of a space rocket in the Star City outside Moscow at cosmonaut training centre. Shuttleworth, the world’s second space tourist, who made an Internet fortune from his parents garage in the South African city of Cape Town, will be one of a three-member crew to travel in a Russian Soyuz space rocket to the International Space Station for eight days in April 2002.

 

The animated character Shrek is shown in a scene from the Golden Globe nominated film, "Shrek." The computer animated film received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Musical or Comedy Motion Picture. The Golden Globe Awards will be presented in Beverly Hills on January 20, 2002.
