Teacher booked for cheating
Sonepat, March 30
The Sadar police have registered a case against a woman teacher Sunita Dahiya of D.C. Jain Senior Secondary School Sonepat under Sections 419, 420 and 170 IPC (cheating and impersonation) and started investigations into it.

Senior Deputy Mayor, wife suspended
Faridabad, March 30
The senior Deputy Mayor of Faridabad, Mr Shiv Charan Lal Sharma, and his wife, Maya Sharma, both corporators, who had been recently booked in a case of fraud, have been placed under suspension. The suspension orders have been passed by the Commissioner, Gurgaon Range, under Haryana Municipal Corporation Act, 1994.

MCD JE, peon held
New Delhi, March 30
The CBI has arrested a Junior Engineer and a peon of the MCD on charges of accepting Rs 10,000 from a shopkeeper for extending some official favour. The engineer, Madan Mohan Kaushik, was caught red-handed by the CBI on Thursday while allegedly demanding and accepting Rs 10,000 from complainant, Yogesh Sharma, in his shop in Seelampur in North-East district in the presence of independent witnesses, CBI spokesman said.

Man kills friend by serving  poisonous drink
New Delhi, March 30
A resident of Sarai Rohilla, Vikram, allegedly killed his friend, Gurjeet, by serving drink laced with poisonous substance in his residence on Friday. Vikram and Gurjeet were good friends and were partners in a musical group. But Gurjeet had some misunderstanding and separated his work.
