Mazaar desecrated
Bahraich (UP), March 30
A mazaar was allegedly desecrated by miscreants in the city this morning, sparking off retaliation with a mob attacking places of worship and setting ablaze vehicles forcing authorities to clamp prohibitory orders. As the news of alleged desecration of the mazaar spread, a mob went on the rampage setting ablaze vehicles and throwing stones at the police party in Ghataghar and the post office area. PTI

Curfew imposed
Nagpur, March 30
At least four persons, including a woman, were killed in stabbing and subsequent police firing in one of the worst group clashes in the old city of Akola, which witnessed violence arson and torching of houses today. While three people were killed in the firing, a woman, Durga Bhawat, succumbed to stab wounds, Akola police control room said this evening. Curfew has been imposed in certain areas of the old city soon after the incident. UNI

Cryogenic engine
Nagercoil, March 30
The final test of the indigenously-developed cryogenic engine was today successfully conducted at the Mahendragiri Liquid Propulsion Systems centre here. PTI

Gaza City, March 30
Israeli Army’s dragnet for Palestinian activists netted dozens today as the military captured a top number of the central committee of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat’s Fatah Movement. Mr Sakher Habash, political commissioner of the central committee, was plucked early today from his home in Ramallah, Palestinian official said from the Gaza Strip. AFP
