In a new twist to the Babri Masjid demolition case, five accused today alleged that they had pulled down the disputed structure at Ayodhya at the instigation of L.K. Curfew continues; tension subsides
Jalandhar, June 7
Tension in the Dalit-dominated violence-ravaged areas started subsiding after the body of 33-year-old Vijay Kumar Kala was cremated here this afternoon. No relaxation in curfew was ordered in any of the localities as stray incidents of fresh violence, including stone-pelting and traffic blockades were reported from some parts of the district.

While the district police has arrested about 20  youngsters for having created trouble in the Buta Mandi and other places and it resorted to firing in the air to disperse mobs in Chuggitti and Guru Nanak Pura area, the city observed an almost complete bandh today in response to a call given by the Dalit Action Committee.
