One killed in poll violence

Batala, June 29
A supporter of an independent legislator was stabbed to death by unidentified persons in Batala district while campaigning for today's panchayat elections, the police said today.

The victim, Succha Singh, a supporter of Batala MLA Succha Singh Chhotepur, was killed late last night in Zora Singhwala village, it said.

The assailants escaped after the attack, police said. PTI
