Amritsar, July 14
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has decided to allot the prime land (Golden Avenue) worth crores, belonging to Darbar Sahib, to its employees at a throwaway price.

The probable beneficiaries include Mr Harbeant Singh, Secretary, Mr Raghbir Singh, Additional Secretary, Mr Harbans Singh Malhi, Additional Manager, Darbar Sahib, Mr Dalmegh Singh, Additional Secretary and other senior functionaries of the Shiromani Committee.

As per information, the SGPC has given a nod to allot 100 plots in the Golden Avenue, near the gurdwara. The biggest plot is being allotted to Mr Harbeant Singh (about 375 yards). The market value of the plot is said to be Rs 25 lakh. The SGPC has made three categories on the basis of the seniority of employees. Senior employees would get bigger plots (more than 200 yards) while Class IV and clerical cadre is entitled to 100 yards and above.

The decision endorsed at the executive committee of the SGPC on June 20 is likely to be implemented in a few days.
