Hindu Girls College wins trophy at cultural meet

Sonepat, December 6
The local Hindu Girls College won the overall trophy at the two-day inter-college cultural meet which concluded last evening in the local Tika Ram Girls College. More than a dozen colleges affiliated with Mahrshi Dayanand University (MDU) participated in the meet.

Sonia of Hindu Girls College got the first position in The folk song competition. She was followed by Rituraj of the local GVM Girls College and Vivek of Arya PG College for second and third positions, respectively.

In the solo dance competition, Sandeep of Jat College Rohtak, Sunita of Tika Ram Girls College and Vijay Kumar of Hindu College, Sonepat, were adjudged first, second and third, respectively.

Poonam of Hindu Girls College was declared the best singer in western solo song category. The second and third positions in this event went to Priyanka of GVM Girls College and Sumit of Hindu College.

The mono acting title went to Neetu of GVM Girls College whereas Nancy of Hindu Girls College got second position and Vinit of Hindu College was placed at third position.

Poonam of Hindu College was the winner of the declamation contest, pushing Kiran of the same college and Payal of Hindu College at second and third places. Poonam also won the poem citation contest.

In poster making, Praveen of Hindu College, Anshu of Tika Ram Girls College and Neha of GVM Girl College were placed at first, second and third places.

The winners of the meet were given away prizes by the Director of Higher Education, Haryana, Mr Dhanpat Singh. He announced a grant of Rs 25,000 for participants of the meet.
