New Delhi, December 12
After a brief lull, the Congress leadership today renewed its efforts to end the factional battle in its Kerala unit.

Capping a day of hectic activities, Kerala Chief Minister A. K. Antony today met Congress President Sonia Gandhi to apprise her of the situation in the state. However, veteran leader K. Karunakaran, who is insisting on Mr Antony’s removal, showed no signs of relenting on his demand.

Talking to reporters after his hour-long meeting with Ms Sonia Gandhi, the Chief Minister maintained that “talks are progressing” and was hopeful of an early solution.
