Pay channels only on CAS from midnight?

Even though the authorities are yet to take a stand on the rollout of the Conditional Access System for cable TV networks, cable subscribers in the Capital’s southern part are all set to experience it from today midnight with Multi Service Operators and cable operators resolving to air pay channels only through Set Top Box.

Extortion racket with Gulf links smashed
New Delhi, December 14
With the arrest of a woman belonging to the Fazul-ur-Rehman gang, the Delhi Police Special Cell today claimed to have smashed an extortion module with Gulf connections, which was targeting affluent Indian businessmen. The sleuths received a complaint from a businessman that he was receiving threatening calls from the Gulf and the person was demanding Rs 50 lakh from him.

The sensational abduction-cum-murder case of a 32-year old man in Central Delhi last evening has been transferred to the Delhi Police Crime Branch. The abduction of the victim, Dilip Sajwani, a resident of Pitampura, who was later found shot dead near Kamla Market, had shocked the traders and residents of the area.
