New Delhi, December 20
A cultural function, ‘Himachal Milan’, will be organised by ‘Himachal Social Bodies Federation’, an apex voluntary social organisation of the Himachal Pradesh, at the Talkatora Stadium on December 25. At least 15 social organisation of Himachal Pradesh are affiliated with the federation and represent the five lakh Himachalis residing in the national Capital.
The federation was primarily engaged in various humanitarian activities. It regularly provides relief to the poor, the sick, the needy and the people affected by natural calamities, such as floods, earthquakes etc. This body was engaged in promoting and preserving the rich art and culture of Himachal Pradesh, popularly known as Dev Bhoomi.
With the cooperation of Himachalis residing in the Capital, the federation has been instrumental in the construction of Himachal Sadan in Karampura. The federation has also created a ‘Trust’ named as ‘All India Himachalis Charitable Trust’ to maintain and look after the Sadan and its allied activities. The federation also has a plan to start a Himachali Public School in Delhi.
The function will be presided over by Mr Virbhadra Singh, Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, and Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit will inaugurate the function.
