Lakshmi returns her crown

Femina Miss India-World 2004 Lakshmi Pandit today returned her crown in the wake of the controversy over her marital status, Assistant Editor of Femina Madhvi Purohit said. Pandit is facing an inquiry into an allegation that she was married.

One of the pre-requisites of the Miss India contest is that only unmarried are eligible to participate. — PTI
