Ludhiana, June 30 Annual function Whizkid, an upcoming completely networked Kids Club organised its 1st annual function at Hotel Marriott, Dugri, at Hotel Marriott yesterday where more than 100 students participated. Students of different age groups exhibited their talents. The function started by according a warm welcome to the chief guests, Ms Rakhee Gupta Bhandari, Chairman, PUDA and Mr Rahul Bhandari, Additional Commissioner, Excise and Sales Tax, Punjab. Mr Vijay Bhandari (a known architect) and Ms Veena Bhandari (an active social worker) were the honourable guests. they encouraged the students by appreciating their performances. Sequence of dances like Papa ki Pari, Gore-gore chore, Chan ke Chacha, Ii's Time to Disco etc. were performed by tiny tots. Punjabi Culture was also given a place of honour. The Punjabi dances brightened the function by lively performances of Giddha and Bhangra. Function concluded by giving away trophies and certificates to all the participants. When asked Principal, Ms Dimple Verma about the function, she replied that the function was organised so that children should take the initiative of expressing their hidden talents.
Creative camp Roots Nursery School concluded its regular summer creative camp today after successfully conducting it for one month. Workshop on different creative programmes like fine arts, crafts, stuffed toys, flower making, flower arrangements, drawing, appear painting, glass painting and put painting was held in the school premises. Classes for martial arts karate, instrumental music like guitar, casio, harmonium, mouth organ and skating were held. It was a treat to see the little interest in western danced as well as in gidha and bhangra. Work done by the participants during the course of training was out on display, which was highly appreciated by the visiting parents. A dance competition was also held on the occasion where the tiny tots excelled in their skill. Prizes were given to the best performers in each category. Function was concluded after a vote of thanks from this Principal Mrs Manjeet Mahant to the participants and parents for having patronised the camp.
Love Dale School A month- long summer camp concluded here today at Love Dale school midst festivities. The camp was organsied at three levels - cultural, sports and computers. The members had undergone training in these wings under expert guidance. During the function members displayed their skill in different types of dancing, drawing and some physical feats. The focus was on creating body rhythm through dancing and yoga asans.. The members performed on stage under the watchful eyes of their parents in HotelLe Baron. The display was well rehearsed and presented. Prizes were given to the participants by Ms Rakhee Bhandari and Mr Sajjan Singh Cheema.Bhangra, Malwai Giddha , Rajasthani dance modeling, yoga, martial arts, western dances and other performance were part of the function The kids demonstrated their talent. Whatever they had learnt in the camp was shown in front of parents. Parents were happy to see kids' performances. |

10-day NSS camp begins Doraha, June 30 Dr Gursaran Kaur, a renowned surgeon of the area, was the chief guest. The programme was presided over by Ms Bhagwant Kaur, president of the management committee of the college. Prof Balwant Singh Pangali, general secretary, college management committee, Mr Jaswant Singh Gill, Principal of the college, and other staff members were also present. Addressing a gathering of 75 volunteers, Dr Gursaran Kaur urged the volunteers to live their life to the full. She said: The volunteers engaged in the 10-day camp should work whole-heartedly towards the welfare of their community and try to make their surroundings pollution-free. They should educate villagers about deadly disease and precautions against them. Prof Pangali too encouraged the girl volunteers to become an asset for the society by getting economically independent. He also said they had the morals and values with which they could enlighten the society. By spreading awareness and knowledge through their intellectual capabilities, they could usher in a new world order. Mr Jaswant Singh Gill, college Principal, too spoke on self-sufficiency and all-round personality development of the fairer sex. Giving information of the activities to be undertaken by the NSS volunteers, the NSS in charge, Prof Amarjit Kaur, said a team of doctors from Civil Hospital, Sahnewal, and veterinary experts from Punjab Agricultural University would also deliver lectures to volunteers during the camp. |
